BHOWANIPUR SPORTS & YOUTH FOUNDATION (BSYF)

BSYF is a Section 8 non-profit organisation established to create a technology-enabled sports ecosystem across India. The Foundation focuses on grassroots talent identification, professional coaching, sports education, athlete welfare, infrastructure development and digital innovation through integrated athlete databases, performance tracking and community engagement. By collaborating with schools, academies, corporates, government bodies and CSR partners, BSYF aims to bridge the rural-urban gap, empower youth and women, support underprivileged athletes through scholarships, generate employment in the sports sector, and build a sustainable pathway for sporting excellence while developing one of India's largest sports development platforms.

BRIEF HISTORY

Inception:

Founded in 1910, Bhawanipore FC is one of Kolkata’s most historic and prominent football institutions within the Maidan ecosystem.

Expansion:

While rooted in football, the club has expanded into other sports, launching a cricket team in 2006 and announcing a new hockey team set to begin operations next year.

Legacy:

The club has a long-standing reputation as a platform for emerging talent, having nurtured players who have gone on to represent Indian national teams in both football and cricket.
